This year's Moto G doesn't have an official release date, and as reliable rumors have yet to surface, we're left to speculate. Motorola released the Moto G (2015) last July, so the new model could appear in summer too.
The original price of the 8 GB Moto G (2015) was US$179. With Motorola generally increasing prices gradually we could expect the new model to cost around US$200-250.
Indeed, a leak coming through WinFuture suggests prices starting at 239 EUR, about $270, for the base model and rising to 278 EUR, $315, for the Plus model, which is said to pack a 16 MP rear camera, an improvement over the base model's 13 MP snapper.
Moto G (2016) specs
Qualcomm announced all mid-range phones will contain Snapdragon 430 processors in 2016, and given that the Moto G (2016) is a mid-range smartphone, we could hazard a guess that that's the processor it will use. Motorola used the Snapdragon 410 chipset in the 3rd generation Moto G and this performed quite well. [post_ad]

The Moto G (2015)
had a 5-inch display with 720p resolution (294 ppi). If the Moto G (2016) improves on the display we could expect a bigger size screen with a possible resolution of 1,080p. Leaked photos have not yet shown display material but it could be made from Gorilla Glass, like the 2015 edition was.
Moto G (2016) design
The leaked photos (see above and below) show a sleek design similar to that of the previous generation. The camera appears to be higher up the back of the phone than it is on the Moto G (2015).
The logo is difficult to make out but in the darker phones we can see it below the camera, as with previous editions, and appears to have no indentation, different from the last generation. The surface also looks a bit smoother and appears to have a slight sheen.

We can also see in the that there are bright colors alongside the darker versions. This could distinguish it from the Moto X (2016), which could have a metallic look according to leaks from the same source.
A pair of photos leaked through Weibo, and picked up by Ars Technica, show what is said to be the Moto G (2016) up close. In the pictures, we see a slab smartphone with rounded edges that dispenses with speaker cutouts on the top and bottom of the smartphone's front panel. A fingerprint scanner, square with rounded corners, instead takes up home below the screen.
On the rear of the device, we see an unsurprising camera unit, expect for two holes above the lens, which are likely an additional sensor or two, perhaps a laser autofocus or color spectrum sensor.

On April 19, a render of the device was posted by reliable leakster Evan Blass. The render shows the Moto G (2016) in white. Little new information on the design or features can be garnered from the render, but we can, once more, see the fingerprint scanner on the front and bat wing logo on the reverse below the camera module. The render serves to lend further validity to earlier leaks showing an almost identical design. · Read Also: Sony Xperia Z5 Premium tips and tricks

Moto G (2016) features
Tech.sina reported that the Head of Mobile at Lenovo, Motorola's parent company, claimed all Moto phones in 2016 will come equipped with fingerprint scanners. That could mean that even the lower-end Moto G could contain a fingerprint scanner, something that was previously thought to be reserved for the higher-end Moto X.
